Grounding Centering & Cone of Power
On Grounding and Centering Whether you are working with magic or just going though your day to day life, grounding and centering are very important. What it means to be grounded and centered is that you are calm at your core, and are connected with the Earth in a very natural and healthy way. There are many ways that one can ground him or herself. Going out in Nature is probably the best way. Meditating is another. Visualization is very good. Walking is good, wherever you are. Many people use stones to help ground them. Some helpful or useful stones for this are:
Black (or other color) Onyx, Black Tourmaline, Carnelian, Hematite, Jet, Marbled Jasper, Obsidian (or Snowflake Obsidian), Smoky Quartz
On Clearing Just as we should all shower or bath daily, so should we all take the time and energy to energetically clear ourselves on a regular basis.

Today we have called in Cone of Power to help us to raise and activate our energy, focus, and concentration. In Wiccan/ Pagan practice Cone of Power is a term, and tool, to do just that. It seems that some of us have depleted our energies, or may need to send energy to a person, place or situation. Cone of Power will help us with this. Cone of Power draws in power from the Universal Source, from the Universal Love that is available to us all. Although it is used by Pagans, it is something that all us of can and do draw upon from time to time, whether we know it or not. The difference with Cone of Power is that we are drawing it in consciously and in a ritualistic or sacred fashion. There are many ways to raise and activate energy. The most common is to form a circle and to link hands. Some people (alone or with others) form a ball of energy, which they then transferred to whatever it is that needs attention. This gathered and activated energy can be used for healing, protection, or creation/ manifestation. It should never, ever be used to harm another, or to gain power for the sake of power itself. There is sometimes a danger when people realize that power is avaible to them, in getting carried away with one's own power. But we must always remember that the power comes from outside of ourselves, that it comes from the Universal Divine, which is love and should be used only for good. One can raise energy by praying, chanting, meditating, drumming, walking, running, practicing martial arts or other physical things. Other ways are to use a candle, wand, staff, athame, or other tool to help draw in and direct the energy. There are many different ideas and practices when it comes to Cone of Power, but for our purposes it is good to keep in mind that intention and focus are the main goals here. Cone of Power shows us today that there is a need to concentrate our energies on something specific, whether that be harmony, healing, the manifestation of a project or goal, including money, or the creation of something new, including refereshing a stale environment or situation. Cone of Power is our tool to make it happen. Just knowing this power can be yours is a step in the right direction. And, Cone of Power says, as always, be humble, grateful, and work towards the highest good. Happy raising all!
